For us the ceremony was perfect. Rev. Byers' choice of poem and vows really reflected all the things we wanted to say to each other. The location we picked (Old Town Gazebo) was great and he was really flexible with date and time.
There are no hidden fees or surprises with his packages and services. He's straight-up honest and fair. His deposit fee required to secure the date and his services was exceptionally reasonable and he issued an invoice and made paying it a breeze. The day of the wedding - at Hotel St. Francis , downtown Santa Fe, NM - he was on time (early, in fact- which puts a professional wedding planner and bride-to-be's mind at ease) and did an incredible performance/ceremony for us, without being too "over the top" and dominating the moment. He had the perfect balance. His words were strong and clear. He was not overly-eager to socialize or be warm -fuzzy upon his first arrival in meeting us for the first time in person (it appeared maybe he had something on his mind) prior to the ceremony, but let me tell you this: when it came time to perform the ceremony, he had an amazing presence, his words were heart-felt, clear and he ended our ceremony with a surprise "zestful" shout-out New Mexico-style! It was beyond awesome. He showed up on time, he delivered a great ceremony, and his price was incredibly reasonable. He was also exceptionally good with return correspondence in email prior to the wedding and most helpful and patient with all our questions. I'd say that's worth its weight in gold. We are so grateful to him, and as a professional in the wedding industry taking a chance on a destination wedding service provider, I can honestly say you will not be disappointed in Reverend Bruce Byers. We wish him (and all his future clientele) happy wedding days in the future years to come!
As a Certified Wedding Professional of 15 years based in Santa Barbara, CA, I found myself having to plan my own destination wedding elopement in Santa Fe, NM and make plans with service providers I did not know or have any relationship with in advance. We contracted Reverend Bruce based on his solid reviews all over, as well as the fact he promptly returned all emails to him, as well as offered a package and rate plan perfect for us. We wanted a "courthouse wedding" but in a non-courthouse setting. We opted for his most basic package and it was full of heart-felt words and meaningful, yet practical and efficient.
