I went here for the 4th of July fireworks show and was really impressed. There is an aquatic center right next to the park that is a great place to take he family. I would recommend swimming at the aquatic center, followed by a picnic in the park.
This park is easy to get to but they only have two portable restrooms and the are pretty far from the playground.

For 4th of July event they should get more options for food trucks.
